"'WWII IS NOT YET OVER': ON CURRENT UPHEAVALS IN GERMAN
HISTORICAL MEMORY"
By DAN DINER (Hebrew University and University of Leipzig)
Dan Diner is a Professor of History at the Hebrew
University of Jerusalem and also serves as Director of the
Simon Dubnow Institute for Jewish History and Culture at
Leipzig University. Currently, he is a visitor at the
Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton.
Professor Diner specializes in the field of modern
European history. His research interests cover Weimar and
the Nazi period, the history of international relations,
and Jewish history. His publications include, "America in
the Eyes of the Germans" (1996); "Das Jahrhundert
Verstehen" (Understanding the Century, 1999), "Beyond the
Conceivable. Studies on Germany, Nazism, and the
Holocaust" (2000), and "Geaechtniszeiten" (Times of
Memory, 2003).
