Please save for future reference

As a frequent participant (and occasional ranter), I want to add my deepest thanks to Eugene for his work over the past many years. I in fact dedicate my portion of the casebook I work on not only to my mentor Robert McCloskey, but also, and just as significantly, to the Members of various Internet listservs who constantly remind me of the complexities of constitutional analysis." This obviously includes both Eugene and every one else on this list, including those with whom I disagree (perhaps especially the latter). I often referred to Eugene as "our genial moderator," which, by and large, he was. In any event, I do hope that someone picks up the task, since I would indeed miss the opportunity to sit in on a debate among a remarkably diverse group of people who are unafraid to express their views.

Thanks for all of your work on this list, Eugene. I really empathize.
Especially with "if you're getting messages that you aren't subscribed
- which almost always mean that your e-mail address has changed, and
you need to subscribe from your new one." I ran the CivPro and the
FedCourts email lists for many years - more than 10, I think - and I
was endlessly responding to one problem - "I get mail from the list,
but I can't send to the list."

When I decided I'd done that long enough, I asked, as you are doing
now, if someone wanted to take over the list. No one did, and the
lists died. I let it happen in part because, for me, blogging had
taken the place of writing on an email list. For a lot of people,
writing here seems to be very important, and I hope someone steps up
to the administrative tasks.

Thanks again.
