Configuring your ideal conlaw course

Hi - we're in the process of planning the conversion of our school from a quarter system to semesters. As part of that process and because we've only been around for 3 years at this point, we get to take a step back and evaluate whether what we're doing is working and how to make it better.
So I'd love to hear your thoughts on how best to configure the basic constitutional law course(s): what (whether it) should be required, how many credits it should be, what should be covered, when it should be offered, etc. I know schools do all sorts of things with constitutional law and that everyone on this list has a ton more experience than I do with this. Any opinions on what works best would be most appreciated.
