Burris Appointment (formerly misnamed Pardon Revocation)

Prior to  the Burris appointment, or even with his appointment, it seems to 
me  that Blagojevich and Reid could have cooperated in finding a negotiated a 
settlement to this conflict, that is, if both had the interests of the  people 
in Illinois in mind.  The absolute position that no candidate chosen  by 
Blagojevich or even a candidate whom Blagojevich had any part in  selecting is 
acceptable is itself destined to prolong the controversy and  deny Illinois full 
representation in the Senate. There are some objective  considerations 
concerning a potential appointee's corruption index pertaining to  his or her 
appointment by the governor.  However, corrupt the governor  is doesn't mean his 
appointee or Reid will be tainted or corrupted by working  with the governor to end 
the stalemate and then watch as he is impeached and  convicted in the 
Illinois legislature or incarcerated for violating various  criminal laws. However, 
corrupt Blagojevich is, there are possible  resolutions of this conflict that 
guarantee Illinois full representation in  the Senate now.
