What did Marbury do next?

In regard to a conspiracy theory:
Given that Marbury had an obvious incentive to pursue his commission,
isn't it more likely that whatever conspiracy occured took place after
the Marbury decision was handed down? In other words, something
happened that convinced Marbury it was not a good idea to pursue the
case any further. Assuming Marbury was a committed Federalist, he
have been convinced by others that pursuing the case could very likely
lead to the impeachment of the Marshall Court--the Federalists' last
stand after the elections of 1800.
