For one take on the distinction between absolute immunity for 
prosecutorial acts and possible liability for acts that fall outside of 
the prosecutorial, you might want to look at Holloway v. Brush, 220 F.3d 
767, 770-72, 774-75 (6th Cir. 2000) (en banc) (denying absolute immunity 
for allegedly lying to a person about the state of a pending proceeding).
