I would be obliged to hear offline from anyone on the list who has written  
specifically, with empirical evidence, on how Miranda warnings actually are 
used  and on what effects actually take place on crime and the safety of the  
public? 
 
I can anticipate all sorts of opinions and all sorts of methodological  
issues.  But would appreciate knowing what attempts at research and/or  evaluation 
may have been made by colleagues on the list.
