Grant and Bush

I will try to enlighted Jim; I wrote this in the context of someone
else's posting about President Grant, comparing Grant's stubborn
personality and willing to stick with his friends, no matter how corrupt
they were -- such as Sec. of War Belknap who resigned while the House
was voting to impeach him. My point in the rest of the post was the
Grant's stubborness made him a great general-- he knew when to continue
(as well as when to slow down) in battle and that made him the greatest
general of his age, and maybe in our history. My point was that perhaps
President Bush's stubborn personality (which a previous post had
compared to Grant's) meant that he too might have been a great military
leader and that he missed his calling by using his father's political
conntections to get into the National Guard. So, in that sense, he
missed the opportunity to excell where his stubborn personality might
have been useful, if indeed, his skills and personality are like
Grant's. I hope you know feel enlightened.
