Just for the record, my upsetness is at the insult to our collective
intelligence manifested in the White House's defense of Meirs as
possessing a "mastery" of constitutional issues when there is literally
not the slightest scintilla of even a trace of evidence of that fact.
(Though I do note that she was on the winning side in a case in which I
was involved challenging the constitutionality of Texas electors voting
for the two Texans Bush and Cheney. So she may in fact be one of the
five ranking experts on the Habitation Clause of the Twelfth Amendment.)
As Frank Rich writes in tomorrow's NYTimes, this is an administration
that seems fatally disconnected from any sense of reality.
