Is anyone else appalled by Senator Reid's behavior?

Was anyone else appalled by Senator Reid's statements yesterday?

 

First, he votes "no" on John Roberts despite obvious excellence in his
qualifications, because he's not certain about the nominee's stands on
basic constitutional questions.  Then, he declares himself "really
happy" about the Miers nomination, despite her underwhelming
qualifications - though it seems fair to be just as uncertain about what
she'll do.

 

I don't mind holding fire or keeping an open mind.  But he seemed
genuinely happy about the nomination.  I don't mind a candidate without
judicial experience, but shouldn't there be some reason to be confident
before announcing happiness?
