Good chance it's moot, because the issue was whether he can get an injunction against repeated defamation with actual malice.  There were overtones of extortion in the defamation campaign; that is certainly moot.  I think I dimly remember that in some states you can't defame a dead man; certainly a defamation claim by an estate is a weak claim to try to first establish a right to an injunction when injunctions have not been granted previously.  If it's not moot, it should probably be digged.

Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., the masterful attorney who gained prominence as an early advocate for victims of police abuse, then achieved worldwide fame for successfully defending football star O.J. Simpson on murder charges, died this afternoon. He was 67.
