Roberts will be the first.  Only three others clerked on the Supreme
Court. Rehnquist (1971-  ) clerked for Jackson (1941-54), Stevens (1975-
) clerked for Rutledge (1943-49), and Byron White (1963-93) clerked for
Vinson (1946-53).
