I seem to remember an exchange, perhaps between Khruschev and Kennedy
during the Cuban Missile Crisis, in which K-1 supposedly tells K-2 that
K-1 is having a devil of a time controlling his crazies in the military,
to which K-2 can only sympathize, to the effect, "You think YOUR crazies
are bad, you ought to see MINE."

A perfectly fine illustration of why some cultures, including in
pre-Columbian America, found that it made sense to have the village chief/tribal
leader/king directly conduct battle with the opposing side's leader; losing leader
dies, losing side recedes, tens, hundreds, thousands of lives spared.

While much of the discussion here has focused on the Christ-like-ness of
Robertson's statement, and on the FA shelter around his remark, I think it would
be helpful to hear from the list on whether the Constitution prohibits or
compels Congress to outlaw such assassinations.
