For those interested, it was the late James Shenton, an historian
at Columbia, who attributed the remark "What is the kike thinking?" to
McReyonlds (referring to Brandeis). It can be heard on Part VI, Lecture 53: "The
Election of 1936 and its Aftermath" of the lecture series "The History of the
United States" produced by the Teaching Company.
