Creeping authoritarianism

Let me add my voice to Eugene's on this.   Jack's post is inappropriate and
simply, flatly wrong.   I completely agree with Eugene that this is not a
topic for this list, if in fact this is an academic forum.  From the
viewpoint of those who do not agree with the strident, end-of-the-world
response to Bush v. Gore by so many law professors, Jack's post--along with
the hyperbolic description of the case by law professors in opposition--is an
unfortunate and extraordinary trend away from legal argument toward
politically, empty, inflammatory rhetoric.
