New Jersey election law?

Are there any experts out there on New Jersey election law with
predictions on how the senatorial ballot case will be resolved in the
state Supreme Court?

There is talk in the papers of the Republicans going to federal court if
they lose in the New Jersey Supreme Court.  What would give them the
idea that a federal court might be more willing to enforce a state
statutory time limit than a (Democratic) state supreme court . . .
