Term Limits Possibilities

It may be of interest that the 1937 Constitution of the USSR had term
limits for top leaders that could be waived by supermajority vote.
Somehow, the needed supermajority was always there: a parchment barrier
indeed.

At minimum, a law repealing term limits should be grandfathered, like
the 22d and 27th Amendments, so that incumbents cannot benefit.
