    I'm delighted to see the list as a resource for finding useful sources,
such as books dealing with a certain question.

    For future reference, though, I think it might be best (especially in
times of high list traffic) for the answers to be sent off-list.  I
recognize that other list members might find the answers interesting, and
that sending the messages on-list may sometimes help avoid duplication of
work.  But as a general matter, I think that it's probably better to reduce
traffic by sending the messages directly to the person posting the request,
rather than just hitting "Reply" and sending them to everyone.
