Lenonidas Ralph Mecham has withdrawn his plan to record all internet usage
by federal judges and their employees.

Mecham implemented his incredibly ill conceived plan without prior notice;
the monitoring came to light only when letters to federal judges like this
one went out: http://cryptome.org/aousa-porn.htm
Is the flap likely to enhance the sensitivity of federal judges to privacy
concerns? How long can Mecham keep his job after making the reported
comments about Judge Kozinski?
