Important but brief technical note from the list custodian

        For your future reference:

If you find yourself unsubscribed from the list, the reason will
almost certainly be that there were problems with your e-mail system, which
led to an error message being sent to me for every message that was posted
to the list. This could be dozens of a messages a day, which can be quite a
burden to sort through.

If this happens for long enough, or if the message suggests (however
erroneously) that the condition will be permanent, I might remove you from
the list, assuming that your address is no longer operational (which is
exactly what the message says).

Sometimes, though, your computer might send an error message that is
itself erroneous -- that says that your address is nonexistent, whereas
there's really just a transitory problem. If that happens, please, just
resubscribe to the list by sending the message

        SUBSCRIBE CONLAWPROF yourfirstname yourlastname

to LISTSERV at LISTSERV.UCLA.EDU . No need to check with me about it; the
process is automatic.

Note also that this -- together with many other important things --
is described as FAQ #3 in http://www.law.ucla.edu/faculty/volokh/conlaw.htm
. Please go to that page and bookmark it for future reference, in case this
or some other problem arises for you. Thanks,

        Eugene
