Quantitative methods

I've not had the opportunity to read Lindgren & Heather, though I know that
Jim Lindgren is a reliable source.
The controversy surely illustrates the importance, not of quantitative
methods per se, but of the scientific process,
where hypotheses are put forth, tested, confirmed, retested, perhaps
falsified, and so on. This actually can produce
at least a relative consensus about the truth.

It illustrates the value and importance of, dare I say, a recount.
