Justice Souter, concurring in the Troxel v. Granville judgment, writes:
"The strength of a parent's interest in controlling a child's associates is
as obvious as the influence of personal associations on the development of
the child's social and moral character."
Would anyone care to venture an opinion about what, if anything, that
passage portends for the decision in the Boy Scouts case, much discussed on
this list?
