List suspended for the day

        I got an e-mail few hours ago from the list software saying that the
list was suspended for the day because traffic reached 50 messages, the list
limit.  I hesitate to interrupt what seems to be a lively and interesting
discussion, but I do think that even on the most fascinating topics, 50
messages a day is a lot to read (and maybe the optimal level would be even
lower).

        I'll restart the list tomorrow morning; in the meantime, I assume
would-be posters are getting messages saying that the list is temporarily
down.  If you aren't getting such messages, but just seeing your e-mail go
into the bit bucket, now you know what's happening.  If you try to post a
message today but don't see it come through, just repost it tomorrow.
