Tom DeLay has charged that there was no warrant, but both the White House and
the INS say there was. According to CNN, "Immigration and Naturalization
Service Commissioner Doris Meissner said a warrant for the action was obtained
from a judge on Friday night. Meissner and officials at the Justice Department
said the operation was perfectly legal." Also, White House press secretary
Joe
Lockhart "gave assurances that the raid was conducted with a search warrant."
