Hi everyone !

Hope midterms went well and you are ready for Halloween !

Here are a couple messages from your Rotaract Board members regarding
upcoming events :

*Trick OR Treating for CANNED FOOD !!! :*

Happy Halloween Rotaracters! Instead of trick or treating for candy, come
out and come trick or treat with us for a good cause! We will be meeting at
the Bruin bear at 8PM on Monday and heading to a large apartment complex to
trick or treat for canned food and donations for the Rotary/Interact joint
canned food drive. Don't forget to dress up :)

*R**otary **Y**outh **L**eadership **A**wards (RYLA) **!!! :*

It's not too late to be a part of RYLA 12' !

*RYLA* is Rotary's truly amazing & life changing leadership training program
in the form of a fun, adventure filled, 3 day, weekend leadership camping
trip! This year, it will be in Blue Jay, near Lake Arrowhead, on April
27-29th (Fri-Sun). Focusing on the "4 C's" ( Communication, Cooperation,
Creativity, Compassion ), RYLA transforms participants by breaking them out
of their shells & comfort zones, through dynamic team building & leadership
activities with 30+Interact Clubs in Rotary District 5280, RYLA Olympics,
talent show, & more ! Former RYLArians are encouraged to come back to share
their experiences with others by becoming a RYLA camp counselor. RYLA is for
aged 14-30 ( aimed at Interact/ high school) , however, after attending RYLA
once, those who want to participate again are asked to return as camp
counselors.



To be a RYLA counselor, you must be able to attend 5 mandatory planning
sessions,( transportation provided) where we teach counselors everything
they need to know from the games to facilitating them, to ensure everyone
has the best of times!

will be on Winter Break]

--ACEing Autism!! Meet @ Sunset Rec Tennis Courts (1-1:45PM for 11 and under
& 2-2:45PM for 11+) to interact with children with autism. No tennis skills
necessary! This activity will continue every Saturday this quarter, but
attendance at every session is not required. Please contact Lisa @ <

--Sign-ups for next month's Reading to Kids event are open!! Come to
Magnolia Elementary on  Nov. 12th from 9AM to noon to participate in the
theme of "College Spirit"!! Spots fill up fast so RSVP ASAP @ <

--UCLA's 4th Annual Dribble for the Cure (Sun., Oct. 30th, 8:30AM to noon on
the UCLA campus)!! Rotaract will be fundraising for the event for the
Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation :). Participants will collect pledges
for their dribble and will be eligible for prizes based on the amount of
money collected. Our parent club, Rotary of Westwood will match us for each
dollar we raise! Keep alert to find out how you can contribute :). For more

--EcoDome-building trip in Mexico. Dates for various trips are below. Those
