[BruinRotaract] Rotaract at UCLA Week 2 Meeting Minutes

Hello everyone ! Thank you to those who attended the second Rotaract meeting
of the year. For those who did not get a chance to, here are the upcoming
events :



-*ACEing Autism*: Meet at the Sunset Recreation Center Tennis Courts
(1-1:45PM for 11 and under & 2-2:45PM for 11+) to interact with children
with autism. This activity will continue every Saturday this quarter, but
attendance to every session is not required. Please contact Lisa @ <

-- *Reading to Kids event @ Magnolia Elementary*, Sat., Oct 8th: Please be
ready to dress up for this month's Halloween theme! Spots fill up fast so
RSVP ASAP at <http://www.readingtokids.org/RSVP/VolRSVPConnect.php>! For
more information please contact Ashley @ <ashlam92 at yahoo.com>



--*Pet shelter*: Rotaract will be gathering members to help walk, play with,
and feed puppies and kittens of a local animal shelter during this brand new
Rotaract activity. Those interested should attend the Oct. 15th. (Sat.)
training session beginning at 10AM. More information will be available at
the next couple meetings, so please stay tuned! For more information or if
you didn't get the chance to sign up during this week's meeting, please

--*Halloween at the Salvation Army*: Make arts, crafts, and fun memories at
this year's Halloween Arts-and-crafts-making session with the children of
the Salvation Army Westwood Transitional Village. This event will take place
the 21st (Fri.) of October from 6:30 to 7:30 pm so please leave room in your
schedules for this exciting event:).



- *Hawaiian Shaved Ice Social*: Look out for the Hawaiian Shaved Ice Social
in coming weeks. Come get to know your fellow Rotaractors ! We will be
getting yummy, authentic Shaved Ice from Brian's Hawaiian Shaved Ice!!!



- *Dribble for a Cure*: The Dribble for a Cure event will take place on the
UCLA campus on Sunday, October 30, 2011 from 8:30 AM to noon. Each
participant will be asked to collect pledges for their “dribble” and will be
eligible for prizes based on the amount of pledge money turned in by the
date of the event. If we raise a certain amount of money, the Rotary club of
Westwood will match us dollar for dollar!!!



- *EcoDome building in Mexico*: Rotaract at UCLA is partnering with
Engineers without Borders and will travel to Baja Mexico to build
sustainable, eco-friendly houses for the elderly. The Project Coordinator,
Dustin James, will be coming to speak at our club meeting in the following
weeks about specifics on the project. For now, if you are interesting please
