If you guys are interested in developing stuff for the AVR with a new 
language that I have been working on for some years, and now have finally

Virgil is a new, lightweight, and type-safe language for writing AVR 
applications at the lowest levels, from hardware drivers to operating 
systems to applications. It dispenses with language features that have 
made it difficult to run higher level languages like Java on 
microcontrollers and includes a number of sophisticated compiler 
optimizations to reduce resource usage.
