About HISTNEUR-L	English (USA)
PURPOSE: HISTNEUR-L is an Internet forum for exchanging information on any aspect of the History of Neuroscience. It includes announcements, inquiries and discussion on access to historical sources and their use and interpretation. AUDIENCE: Membership is open to anyone interested in neuroscience history, including but by no means limited to historians, scientists, students, instructors, curators, publishers, archivists and librarians. The listserv is maintained for the benefit of the International Society for the History of the Neurosciences (ISHN), but is open to all (anyone with an e-mail account and an interest in the subject is welcomed). Only subscribed members may post to the list; all other attempts will be rejected. To see the collection of prior postings to the list (since January 2005), visit the HISTNEUR-L Archives. Using HISTNEUR-L
To post a message to all the list members, send email to histneur-l@lists.ucla.edu. Only subscribers may post messages to this list. You can subscribe to the list, or change your existing subscription, in the sections below. In responding to a posting on the list, use your "Reply" function to send a message to only the individual who posted; use your "Reply-To-All" function to send a message to the entire list membership.
Subscribing to HISTNEUR-L
Subscribe to HISTNEUR-L by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email. This is also a private list, which means that the list of members is not available to non-members. Your email address:   Your name and affiliation (optional):   You may enter a privacy password below. This provides only mild security, but should prevent others from messing with your subscription. Do not use a valuable password as it will occasionally be emailed back to you in cleartext. If you choose not to enter a password, one will be automatically generated for you, and it will be sent to you once you've confirmed your subscription.
