| About EighteenthCentury | |
|
This group holds meetings once a quarter for those in Southern California interested in eighteenth-century literature, history, and politics. At the meetings, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, we discuss a precirculated, unpublished paper written by a scholar who works on the long eighteenth century and who attends the meeting. The electronic mailing list facilitates these meetings, at which members learn about new scholarship, exchange information, read and comment on works in progress, discuss research techniques, and interact with other scholars from the area. Graduate students, faculty members, and independent scholars living in Southern California are welcome to join the group, which is hosted and led by members of the UCLA Department of English. The electronic list is moderated, only the administrators may send messages to the members. The only messages that will be sent to the list will regard the group's quarterly meetings and eighteenth-century talks and conferences in Southern California. This should be no more than one or two emails a month. No solicitations will be posted. To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the EighteenthCentury Archives. (The current archive is only available to the list members.) |
